Things to do in the area in summer
Walking:
| The valleys and high passes of the Val d'herens and the Alpes Pyranees provide some of the most spectacular walking in Switzerland and Europe.
Simple but scenic walks can be had in and around Les Collons, Thyon and Heremence. More spectacular scenery can be found up around the Dixence Dam and up at the head of the Val d'herens at Arrolla. |

There are also a number of long distance and high altitude paths within a short distance from the chalet. The most famous of which is the path that links Zermatt to Chamonix. Multi-day walks can also be easily done using a number of local high altitude bunk-houses and cabins. |
